Norsat leverages its expertise in design and manufacturing through its extended family of satellite terminals. These terminals provide broadband connectivity via satellite in areas where traditional communications infrastructure is insufficient, damaged, or non-existent. Setting the industry standard for quality, Norsat’s satellite component products are used by the worlds largest satellite integrators to enable the transmission and reception of signals. Norsat provides the same level of broadband connectivity in the middle of the ocean as it does on land, meeting maritime fleet needs to be in constant communication with various stakeholders. Norsat works with telecommunications operators and other technology partners to provide end-to-end satellite-enabled network solutions for broadband access and voice, data and video communication services.

Sinclair’s System engineering group provides project specific designs to offer customers unique and customized solutions. Management Team
Amiee Chan, President & CEO
Dr. Amiee Chan has over 15 years of experience in executive management and research & development in the telecommunications industry. Offering a rare blend of technical and corporate strength, Dr. Chan’s strategic vision has driven Norsat’s innovative product development program and resulted in consistent revenue growth since her appointment as CEO in 2006. In 2012 Dr. Chan won a Women’s Executive Network Top 100 Award, ranked third in PROFIT/Chatelaine’s list of Top Female Entrepreneurs, and led Norsat to win a BC Export Award for Advancing Technology & Innovation. Dr. Chan holds an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University where she majored in Strategy and New Ventures and a Ph. D. in Satellite Communications from the University of British Columbia. An accomplished engineer, she has been published over a dozen times, holds three US patents, and has been involved in high level research teams such as the NASA ACTS Terminal Program. Dr. Chan is a member of the UBC Engineering Advisory Council and serves on the Dean’s External Advisory Board for the Beedie School of Business at SFU.
Arthur Chin, CFO
Mr. Chin rejoined Norsat in 2011, bringing 16 years of professional experience in both public practice and in public companies. Since leaving public practice in 2002, he has served in senior financial positions with several international companies, assisting them in planning and analysis of their financial reporting, handling corporate accounting and tax, corporate communications efforts, and providing corporate development strategies. Mr. Chin was previously with Norsat between 2002 and 2005 and was the Company’s Corporate Controller. Prior to rejoining Norsat, he held senior financial positions mostly in the high technology industry with DDS Wireless International Inc., a TSX listed company that provides wireless mobile data solutions and Ascalade Communications Inc., formerly a TSX listed company that designed, developed and manufactured digital wireless and communication products and also with the Canadian Tourism Commission. Prior to his corporate experiences he was in Big 4 public practice, most recently as a Manager in the assurance practice of Deloitte and originally with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Chin is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Wee Er, General Manager Sinclair Division
Mr. Er has been with Sinclair since July 2016 and in just a short time has demonstrated not only technical leadership in R&D, engineering, product design and quality but also excellent general management skills internally throughout Sinclair and externally with customers, suppliers and with Hytera. Prior to joining Sinclair, Mr. Er spent 2 years as R&D Director at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and before that he spent 18 accomplished years within Motorola Asia Pacific in several engineering and technical sales positions with progressively increasing levels of responsibility. Mr. Er holds an Executive MBA from the Nanyang Technological University as well as a Masters from the University of British Columbia and degree from the University of Alberta both in Electrical Engineering.
